On February 16, a Foxconn company finished the registration with Xintang Customs, which is affiliated to Huangpu Customs. The company is named SIO International Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd, with total investment of RMB50 billion and registered capital of RMB20 billion.

 

It was learnt that, last year, Foxconn and the People’s Government of Guangzhou signed a cooperation framework agreement. In accordance with the agreement, Foxconn decided to make investment of RMB61 billion to build an integrated ecological industrial park for 10.5-generation display products. The project is the biggest foreign-invested project established in Guangzhou since the reform and opening-up policies were put into practice.

 

The customs established a project promotion group to further understand the demands of Foxconn for related customs services and make work plans in time to provide substantial support for the company.

 

“On February 15, officials from the customs and the local government visited our company and had a discussion with the representatives of the Group for Customs-related Operations to have a better understanding of the progress of the application for the project and the plans for importing related production equipment and raw materials. They also provided guidance based on related policies on customs registration and filing. Today, everything goes very smoothly for the customs registration. This makes us more confident in the import and export operations in the future,” said He Penglin, manager of customs-related operations of Foxconn.

 

“We will continuously follow up the development and planning of Foxconn and the needs of the company for customs services and collect opinions and suggestions of the company to provide excellent services for it,” said Yang Xiaoyong, director of Xintang Customs, “Meanwhile, we will further improve a series of working mechanisms for sharing information about project preparation and establishment with the local government to provide integrated services in the processes of the location selection, establishment and completion of major projects.”
