On August 22, Ren Xuefeng, secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Committee, met with Jin Liqun, president of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and his fellows, who visited Guangzhou for a survey on the development of open economy and the finance sector.

 

On behalf of the CPC Guangzhou Committee and the People’s Government of Guangzhou, Ren expressed welcome to the guests. He said that Guangzhou is now centering on the task to build a national central city and following “the Belt and Road” initiative to construct a hub-type network city for further promoted reform and opening and an innovative development as well as more scientific, refined and quality urban planning and management, for which the AIIB may provide a good example with its lean, honest and environment-friendly management concept and internationalized operation mode. Ren hoped that the AIIB will become an important strategic partner of Guangzhou so that both sides can further deepen the cooperation in a wide range of fields, such as strengthening infrastructure construction, promoting regional connectivity and economic integration and helping Guangzhou’s enterprises go global.
