More than 160 Chinese and foreign enterprises executives got together to discuss the cooperation and development plans in the new year.

 

Cai Zhaolin, vice mayor of Guangzhou, pointed out in his speech that in 2016, a batch of hub and innovation projects, including CISCO Innovation Center, GE International Bio-Park, Microsoft Innovation Incubation Center, Zung Fu China Headquarters, headquarters of COSCO Shipping Bulk Co. Ltd., have settled in Guangzhou and 2017 Fortune Global Forum, the World Route Development Forum 2018 and China Cruise Shipping Conference 2019 have decided to convene in Guangzhou. The mobile Internet, bio-pharmacy, smart manufacturing and other innovation industries have accelerated formation of the industrial clusters, and the e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce, cruise economy and financial leasing and other new economy and new business formats have enjoyed a good development momentum in Guangzhou. Recently the United Nations released the World Urbanization Prospects and The 2016 China Sustainable Cities Report: Measuring Ecological and Human Development. In these two reports, Guangzhou was rated the fastest growing megacity across the world and topped the list of China- Human Development Index.

 

“All the first scores were the crystallization of the great efforts of all enterprises and institutions settled in Guangzhou and a solid foundation for enterprises to grow stronger and bigger in Guangzhou in the future,” said Cai. In 2017, Guangzhou will grasp the opportunity of implementing the spirit of the 11^th Guangzhou Municipal Congress of the CPC to continuously increase investment, technology and talent introduction, provide high-quality services for enterprises and institutions in Guangzhou, enhance investment, trade and life services facilitation, protect legal rights and interests of enterprises and create a favorable environment for enterprises. Guangzhou also welcomes enterprises and institutions to provide suggestions and opinions for Guangzhou’s development.

 

This year Guangzhou has enhanced the investment promotion and made achievements. From January to November, the city saw 124,000 new enterprises registered, up 40% year-on-year, with the total registered capital exceeding RMB700 billion, up 37%.
